ADELAIDE, Australia—The shooters who attacked a Hanukkah event at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday appear to have been inspired by Islamic State, Australia’s prime minister said Tuesday, as investigators looked into the planning behind the country’s deadliest mass shooting in nearly 30 years.
Police and local media reports said the shooting began while some people were attending a Hanukkah party on the beach. At least 40 people were hospitalized.
