The Phoenix Suns will look to be just the second team to defeat the defending-champion Oklahoma City Thunder when the two teams play in an NBA Cup quarterfinal contest on Wednesday night. But, the Suns will have to do so without their best player. Star guard Devin Booker has been ruled out of the game due to a right groin strain.

Booker's missed the last three games due to a groin injury and was set to be re-evaluated on Wednesday. He was officially marked as questionable before the Suns ruled him out ahead of their eventual blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in NBA Cup action.

The upstart Phoenix Suns have been surprisingly competent in the early stages of this NBA season. At the time of this writing, they're the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and can boast some impressive wins over the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves (twice), and Los Angeles Lakers.

Tuesday was a good sign for both the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns. The OKC Thunder saw superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Defensive-aces Alex Carus

After the Thunder barely escaped the Suns in their West Group A matchup, Booker revealed that the 'secret is out' in terms of how OKC plays defense. He said their physical brand of defense has helped them speed up opponents in their decisions. That segues to a bunch of turnovers.
