Per TheAthletic, Disney and ESPN have reached an agreement that could potentially be worth billions of dollars. This landmark deal enables ESPN, to expand its content options and shift more to streaming and further from its dependence on conventional cable TV.

ESPN is expected to have access to RedZone, NFL Network and seven more regular-season games, among other assets.

While ESPN and the NFL may have agreed to a massive media deal that will give The Worldwide Leader in Sports a major stake in the league, there are still many hurdles to overcome before it becomes official.
