A woman and toddler whose remains were discovered scattered along an oceanfront highway not far from the victims of Long Island’s infamous Gilgo Beach killings were identified Wednesday as an Army veteran from Alabama and her daughter.

FBI said "tedious work" gave homicide victims Tania Denise Jackson and Tatiana Marie Dykes their names back, nearly three decades after they were killed.

Army veteran Tanya Jackson was killed along with her toddler, Tatiana Dykes. Police stopped short of naming alleged serial killer Rex Heuermann as a suspect.
