The Texas House failed to meet quorum for the third time on Friday, as a political showdown continues to play out between Texas Republicans and Democrats over redistricting mid-decade.

Texas Democrats on Saturday again prevented their state’s House of Representatives from moving forward with a Trump-backed plan to redraw Texas' congressional map. That redistricting plan would give Republicans an advantage in keeping control of the House of Representatives in D.

The chamber lacks enough members on the House floor to hold a vote on a new congressional map that could flip five Democrat seats to Republicans.
