NEW YORK — Devils center Jack Hughes didn’t understand what MSG analyst Steve Valiquette meant when he called out Hughes for trying to “embarrass” Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin during the Devils’ 5-1 win at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.

Valiquette, a former Rangers goaltender turned analyst, took issue with Hughes’ one-handed breakaway move on Igor Shesterkin in the first period, calling it "Instagram hockey," and claiming it disrespected the Rangers’ star goalie.

Jesper Bratt had a goal and three assists, Jack Hughes scored twice and Jacob Markstrom made 39 saves as the New Jersey Devils beat the New York Rangers 5-1.
