The Keller ISD board of trustees voted unanimously Thursday morning to accept the resignation of Superintendent Tracy Johnson. The trustees met in a special board meeting, most of which was spent behind closed doors in executive session.

The board’s lawyer did not advise members of the cease-and-desist letter before two meetings in January where the term “Alliance ISD” was used.

FORT WORTH – As the Keller ISD Board of Trustees continues to debate a controversial proposal to split the district in two, Fort Worth City Council members are looking into taking preemptive action to protect school properties.

Beyond the shady process of the proposal, Keller ISD parents pointed out that the split would concentrate the district’s amenities on the east side of the highway, limiting the opportunities for thousands of students, many of whom are Black.

The Tarrant County District Attorney is asking the Texas Attorney General to issue a legal opinion on the plan to split Keller Independent School District.
