Mel Gibson says he lost his Malibu home to the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires while he was recording an episode of "The Joe Rogan Podcast." The controversial and award-winning actor/director opened up about the experience during an interview with NewsNation's "Elizabeth Vargas Reports.

Academy Award winner Mel Gibson was recording with podcaster Joe Rogan in Austin, Texas when he learned that his Malibu home was likely burning to the ground. “I was kind of ill at ease while we were talking because I knew my neighborhood was on fire ,” the polarizing filmmaker told NewsNation on Thursday.

Mel Gibson has admitted it is "kind of devastating" to have lost his Malibu home in the Los Angeles wildfires but he is grateful he and his family are safe and well.
