NASCAR driver Ross Chastain visited Watkins Glen on Thursday in a meet and greet with race fans as part of the “Protect Your Melon” campaign. The campaign’s focus was on raising awareness about the usage of seatbelt safety.

On Thursday, Aug. 7 Chastain will appear on the lawn of the Schuyler County Courthouse at 105 9th St. in Watkins Glen from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. to sign autographs and promote the importance of seat belt use through the “Protect Your Melon” campaign.

After three weeks on ovals, the NASCAR Cup Series pivots to a road course at Watkins Glen International, an American motorsport shrine.
