Besides leading Belgium, which finished fourth at the Paris Olympics, Meziane has served as the coach of the French women’s basketball club Villeneuve D’Asco since 2019.

Meziane joins the Sun after most recently coaching the Belgium national team and the French professional club Villeneuve d’Ascq.

Rachid Meziane, who has long coached professionally in France and leads the Belgian women's national team, is the new coach of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun. The announcement came Wednesday, the day after the Sun named former WNBA and UConn player Morgan Tuck as their new general manager.
