A hospital in Agartala, Tripura has refused to treat patients from Bangladesh in light of atrocities against minority Hindus in Bangladesh. The stand from the Tripura hospital came just a day after a hospital in Kolkata took similar position.

Agartala: Tripura ‘s Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury alleged that a bus on the way to Kolkata from Agartala was attacked in Bangladesh. The incident happened on Bishwa Road in Bangladesh’s Brahmanbaria district, he said.

A day after a Kolkata hospital decided not to treat patients from Bangladesh over alleged atrocities against minority Hindus, a multi-specialty healthcare facility in Agartala followed suit.

Reports indicate that the bus was hit by a cargo truck from behind, forcing it to crash into an auto-rickshaw.

Two leading hospitals in India have decided to stop treating patients from Bangladesh. The decision comes after alleged incidents of disrespect to the Indian flag in Bangladesh. Kolkata 's JN Ray Hospital was the first to announce the decision on Friday,

"We want to iterate that Bangladeshi people have insulted us, have mistreated our people and we shall not provide any service to them...,” an executive of Agartala’s ILS Hospitals told the media Monday.

ILS Hospital in Agartala, a well-known healthcare provider for patients from Bangladesh due to its proximity and affordable treatment options, cited the mistreatment of Hindus and disrespect toward the national flag in Bangladesh as the reason behind the decision.

JN Ray Hospital in Kolkata has decided to stop treating Bangladeshi patients indefinitely due to the recent unrest situation in Bangladesh, particularly the anti-Hindu violence and disrespect towards the Indian national flag.

Subhranshu Bhakta, the hospital's director, explained that while medical care is a noble profession, the dignity of the nation takes precedence.
