Two years ago, Valve told The Verge it wanted a successor to its cult classic Steam Controller, whose incredibly customizable buttons and touchpads paved the way for the Steam Deck handheld PC. Now, Valve watcher Brad Lynch claims a Steam Controller 2 — codename “Ibex” — is actually getting made.

Valve's Steam Controller was discontinued in 2019 but a new leak suggests that the gaming company is working on a sequel that may enter mass production soon.

Valve is reportedly working on a sequel to its original Steam Controller, according to an insider report. Per YouTuber Brad Lynch, a Steam Controller 2 codenamed "Ibex" is in the works, and en route to mass production.

The Steam Controller 2 is codenamed "Ibex" and will reportedly have symmetrical analog sticks, just like the PlayStation DualSense controllers. However, the trackpads from the ori
