RALEIGH, N.C. – A third-period comeback attempt by the Buffalo Sabres fell short in a 6-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at Lenovo Center on Saturday.

The Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes have changed plenty across the first few weeks of the season in terms of their lineups.

Alex Tuch is riding a three-game point streak against the Hurricanes (2+1) and he has recorded one goal in back-to-back games against Carolina. A goal tonight would make Tuch the first Sabres skater since Jeff Skinner from Jan. 11 to March 16, 2019 (three games; 4+0) to record a goal streak of three or more games against the Hurricanes.

The Carolina Hurricanes (9-4, fourth in the Eastern Conference) host the Buffalo Sabres (5-5-4, 16th) at Lenovo Center on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. Carolina earned a 4-3 victory at home its last time out on Nov. 6 against the Minnesota Wild. Buffalo played at home in its last game on Nov. 6, and fell 3-0 against the St. Louis Blues.
