Snow will start falling in the Denver area early Wednesday morning, stacking up multiple inches as it continues throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Denver7 chief meteorologist Lisa Hidalgo said snow is picking up intensity in the Denver metro with some "pretty good bands" showing on radar right now. "Were going to see some impressive totals", she said.

A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day is in effect until mid-morning Monday due to slick travel in the high country and along parts of the Palmer Divide from overnight snow.
