The rumors came out last night but it is now official. Matt Rhule has agreed to a contract extension with Nebraska through 2032. This would be add an additional two years to his contract. But that is not the most interesting part of this.

Nebraska coach Matt Rhule has signed a two-year contract extension, the school announced on Thursday. It extends Rhule’s contract through the 2032 season. The extension does not change Rhule’s base salary, the school said, but includes new salary escalators for College Football Playoff appearances.

Rhule, 50, was revealed to have inked a contract extension with Nebraska on Thursday through 2032, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. While Rhule had previously said he was “really happy” at Nebraska, fans and media personalities alike weren’t going to be convinced the move was off the table until someone else was hired or Rhule got an extension.
