Someone in northeast Ohio could be holding a ticket worth nearly $3.5 million and not even know it yet.

An Ohio man said his father's tradition of giving scratch-off lottery tickets as Christmas presents resulted in his winning a $100,000 prize.

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — A group of 27 coworkers from a local business are splitting a $1 million Powerball prize after their lottery pool matched all five white balls in the Dec. 20 drawing, the Ohio Lottery said.

No Powerball jackpot winner on Jan. 24; 14,338 Ohio winners claimed smaller prizes. The jackpot has reached $30 million for the drawing on Jan. 26. A North Carolina player won a $209.3 million jackpot earlier that week.
