Stephen Colbert taped a “Late Show” interview with James Talarico, a candidate in the Democratic Senate primary in Texas, on Monday. But CBS lawyers intervened before the interview could air on TV.

Stephen Colbert took on his own network again Tuesday, pushing back against CBS' statement regarding his unaired interview with a Democratic candidate for Senate.

Colbert said CBS did not allow him to air a scheduled interview with James Talarico citing concerns about federal election rules.
