DePaul guard Ally Timm was named the Big East Freshman of the Week as she averaged 20.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 assists in two games. Timm had 28 points in a win over Valparaiso and 13 points in a loss to UNLV.

STORRS, CT (WFSB) - The 2-0 UConn women’s basketball team remained atop the Associated Press ’s top 25 poll on Monday. The No. 1 Huskies dispatched Florida State on Sunday 99-67 in their home opener at Gampel Pavilion.

The Huskies are also without freshman Gandy Malou-Mamel. Geno Auriemma said last week that Malou-Mamel got "whacked" by Serah Williams in practice and was "hopeful" to return in time for the season-opener.

The Huskies were ranked No. 4 in the preseason Associated Press poll but moved up after starting the season with a pair of wins.
