LOS ANGELES — Stepping into Dodger Stadium was something of a full circle moment for Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy. “Love this place,” Tracy said. “A lot of cool memories here.”

Many key young members of the Red Sox — from Wilyer Abreu, Ceddanne Rafaela and Roman Anthony to Payton Tolle and Jake Bennett — played for Chad Tracy at some point at Triple-A Worcester. One new member of the team, though, has a history that dates back much further.

Seventeen years ago, Jim Tracy took over as interim manager for the Colorado Rockies and engineered one of the greatest season turnarounds in MLB history. Now, his son Chad is on an eerily similar path with the Boston Red Sox.
