Hundreds of correction officers and their supporters are scheduled to protest at the state Capitol Tuesday morning as part of unsanctioned strike.

As strikes at New York prisons enter their third week, correction officers gathered in Albany on Tuesday, demanding legislative action, including repealing the HALT Act. Hundreds rallied with Republican leaders outside the state Capitol.

Corrections officers at DOCCS facilities across New York state are on strike. The National Guard has been activated and deployed to a number of prisons.
