Emma Raducanu’s impressive run in Washington has ended after a straights-set defeat by the Anna Kalinskaya, with the Russian’s heavy ground-strokes and metronomic accuracy proving too much for the Briton.

Anna Kalinskaya scored a big upset over Emma Raducanu in the DC Open semifinals, but it was her adorable puppy who stole the show.

Fernandez reached her seventh career WTA final and first since June 2024 at Eastbourne. Kalinskaya reached her only tour finals last year at Dubai and Berlin. Raducanu, ranked 46th, has not reached a WTA final since her Grand Slam breakthrough in New York.
