TORONTO — José Ramírez’s absence from the Guardians lineup was short-lived. The All-Star third baseman returned Sunday after sitting out Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays with a mild right ankle sprain.

José Ramírez’s right ankle is sore after the Cleveland Guardians star stumbled over first base in a loss at Toronto, but manager Stephen Vogt said the six-time All-Star third baseman wasn’t too badly injured.

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez is one of the most complete players in MLB. Entering Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays, Ramirez was looking to build on what was a historic performance on Thursday.
