Royals infielder Josh Rojas began the sixth with a leadoff walk. He advanced to third base on Thomas’ single to set up a scoring opportunity. The Royals took their chance. The players executed a double steal and Rojas scored the tying run on the play. Thomas later scored on Salvador Perez’s RBI single.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kody Clemens hit a game-ending grand slam with two outs in the ninth inning as the Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals 4-3 on Thursday after being no-hit by Noah Cameron until the seventh.

Royals catcher Carter Jensen provided the visitors’ lone run. He belted his 15th home run of the year off the right-field facade in the sixth; the blast traveled 424 feet to put the Royals on the board.
