Campbell received an eight-year, $60 million deal in April, several days into his major league career. Two months later, his struggles caused the Red Sox to demote him to Triple A Worcester, where he remains.

The Boston Red Sox have signed Ceddanne Rafaela, Kristian Campbell, Brayan Bello and now Roman Anthony to extensions in the last few years.

So far, the Kristian Campbell contract extension hasn't worked out for the Red Sox. But that didn't influence their decision to extend Roman Anthony.
