The Lebanese army has deployed its troops and tanks across the country's south as the ceasefire deal between Israel and Lebanon enters its second day.

A ceasefire deal that could end more than a year of cross-border fighting between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group won backing from Israeli leaders.

The U.S.-brokered cease-fire is set to take effect Wednesday morning in Israel and Lebanon, ending more than a year of fighting tied to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. President Joe Biden said his team would continue to push for an end to fighting in Gaza.
