An explosion at a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department training facility on Friday killed three deputies, the sheriff said.

The deputies, with 19, 22, and 33 years of service, were described as highly trained experts. No one else was injured.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed that an explosion occurred at the Biscailuz Center Academy Training in East Los Angeles.
