Bitter cold is gripping the region Monday but the good news is that a warm up is in sight. The temperature early Dec. 15 was zero degrees. By Thursday, the National Weather service expects a high temperature in the mid-50s. The region's cold weather advisory expired at 11 a.m. Wind chill values were in the teens as the advisory expired.
