Additionally, 19% of Americans say they are ‘moderately proud,’ whereas 11% say they’re only ‘a little proud’ to represent their nationality. On the lowest end of the scale, 9% of those surveyed say they’re ‘not at all proud’ to be American.

America’s decline in national pride has been a slow erosion, with a steady downtick in Gallup’s data since January 2001, when the question was first asked.
