A Russian ballistic missile and drone barrage across Ukraine overnight killed at least 10 civilians, including children, and injured more than 50 others, officials said Thursday, and NATO scrambled its warplanes after one of the missiles crossed the country's western border into Poland.

The missile flew for roughly six minutes in Polish airspace before crashing 60 miles deep into the country, the military said.

At 3:40 a.m. local time, an unidentified object was detected in Polish airspace, while "at least a dozen" missiles were "operating over western Ukraine."
