Hideki Matsuyama carded the lowest-ever 72-hole score in the history of the PGA Tour on Sunday, shooting an astonishing 35-under to win The Sentry in Kapalua, Hawaii.

The Olympic bronze medalist also improves his record as a 36-hole leader. Commanding the seventh lead of his career at the halfway point, Matsuyama converted his advantage into his fourth victory while in that position. It is his second straight conversion with his last coming at what was his most recent victory, the 2024 St. Jude Championship.

Just two of the seven golfers who have turned this trick did so by winning the Hawaiian stops in consecutive weeks.

Hideki Matsuyama captured The Sentry in record-setting fashion, shooting 35 under for the week and setting a new record for score in relation to par and most birdies or better (35) in a single PGA Tour event. He topped Collin Morikawa by three shots, and his worst round of the week was an 8-under 65, which he did three times.
