The publisher behind the "Franklin the Turtle" books is upset after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared an image of the children's character shooting at drug traffickers. Kids Can Press posted its response to Hegseth's depiction of Franklin on Monday,

Kids Can Press, the publisher of the Franklin the Turtle books, flamed Hegseth on Monday for his “unauthorized” use of the beloved children’s character for war propaganda.

Along with firing a rocket launcher, the character is seen in military garb on the side of a helicopter. Three boats can be seen below the aircraft, all of which appear to carry cargo representing narcotics.
