Sam Siefkes also is a former Wofford and Wisconsin-Platteville defensive coordinator, and he worked as a quality control coach for the Minnesota Vikings.

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech announced today that head football coach Brent Pry has completed his defensive coordinator search with the addition of Sam Siefkes. Siefkes has had stops in the football world from Division III, to his latest position as the linebackers coach with the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Virginia Tech is targeting Arizona’s linebackers coach Sam Siefkes to be the program’s defensive coordinator. Siefkes just finished his second season with Arizona as LBs coach. He previously was with the Vikings as their defensive quality control coach in 2021 and assistant linebackers coach in 2022.
