The Chicago Bears signed Keenan Allen in hopes that the veteran wide receiver would prove to be a reliable and productive target for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, but the pair never quite got on the same page in 2024.

Bears WR Keenan Allen understands the importance of playing in the preseason, especially when it comes to having a rookie quarterback.

Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report suggested on Wednesday, February 26, that parting ways with six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen in the interest of saving a little bit of money would be such an error, if that’s the path Chicago chooses to tread.

As the start of NFL free agency nears, the Chicago Bears could be one of the league's most active teams on the market with roughly $69 million in salary cap space to build out their roster. The arrival of free agency also means Chicago must make decisions on all of its pending free agents before the open negotiating period begins on March 10.

The Chicago Bears are in a loaded NFC North and may look to get more explosive under new head coach Ben Johnson. That could mean parting ways with an aging pass catcher.

Although they're expected to be big players on the open market, the Bears have seen a few of their own free agents land on 'Top 100' lists for available free agents. Chicago isn't expected to invest much into in-house free agents,

The Bears do not need to invest top-of-market money into the position with Moore and first-round pick Rome Odunze on the roster, but they do need more depth with Allen set to depart and Tyler Scott currently penciled in as WR3.

The Bears might have presented themselves with the opportunity to draft Ashton Jeanty, after trading for offensive guard Joe Thuney.
