In “Found on the Guadalupe River,” volunteers post photos of clothes, stuffed animals and keepsakes found along the river. They’re trying to find the owners.

It’s a staggering fact, especially after our region has experienced a multi-year drought. But nearly every major river basin in South Central Texas has experienced flooding since July 4, 2025.

The devastating floods that struck central Texas over the Fourth of July weekend have become one of the deadliest flood events in the U.S. in the past century, Newsweek previously reported. By Sunday evening, authorities had confirmed at least 82 fatalities.

At least 78 people have died after heavy rainfall caused flash flooding in parts of central Texas on Friday, officials said.

Just one week after deadly flooding devastated Central Texas, severe weather returned to the region on Sunday.

So far, 27 people have been confirmed dead in Kerr County, Texas after severe flooding along the Guadalupe River. Here are photos of the devastation.
