After an injury scare earlier in the week, former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields returned to Jets practice.
"Update: After medical evaluation, QB Justin Fields sustained a dislocated toe in his right foot and will be day-to-day. Fields avoided serious injury and significant missed time," the team announced. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo shared Fields is expected to be ready for Week 1.
Justin Fields took part in quarterback and 7-on-7 drills at Jets training camp Saturday, two days after suffering a dislocated toe.
Justin Fields appears to have sidestepped the Curse of The Jets Quarterback even if he couldn’t get out of the way of a teammate stepping on his foot.
Connor Hughes of SNY explained that it's unclear what exactly caused Fields' injury, as the Jets first team returned to the field for just one play before he went down. He reportedly "stood up, sat down, then stood up before he limped off the field [very] gingerly."
