The big NFL news of the weekend has revolved around New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr. His status for 2025 came into question recently after it was revealed that he needed shoulder surgery. Instead of going through a risky surgery, Carr opted to retire. He's retiring as a Saint, but that's not the team that he'll be remembered for.

Dennis Allen was head coach of the Raiders when Oakland drafted Carr. Allen was also the head coach of the Saints when they signed Carr to a multi-year contract in 2023. He was (finally) fired by New Orleans seven games into last season. This offseason, Allen was hired to be the defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears.
