Toronto Blue Jays starter Dylan Cease capped off July in style by holding the St. Louis Cardinals to just one run over six innings on the mound. The Jays won 3-1 and, as August begins this morning, remain firmly in the thick of the race for the best second-place finish.

Dylan Cease tossed a complete game shutout with 12 strikeouts in a win over the Red Sox on Saturday. On the second anniversary of Cease’s no-hitter for the Padres in 2024, it looked like he’d be on the verge of history once again as he held the Red Sox without a hit through five innings before Andruw Monasterio led off the sixth with a double.
