With the historical epic "Gladiator II" and pink-tinged musical "Wicked" debuting on the same weekend later this year, there's real potential for another "Barbenheimer" double-feature phenomenon.

Studio projections are lower, putting “Gladiator II” around $60 million and “Wicked” around $100 million. “‘Wicked’ is the one that’s really moving up.

Universal Pictures’ “Wicked” needed no lessons in how to be popular at the domestic box office this weekend, opening at No. 1 to the tune of $114 million, according to studio estimates.
