KERR COUNTY, Texas — As the Hill Country cleans up the flooding debris, medical clinics, pharmacies and partners with the State Department of Health are working to help first responders, volunteers, and flood victims stay safe with free tetanus shots. Its recommended to get a tetanus booster shot every 10 years as an adult.
As the water rises, so does the Kerr County community, especially one man who reunited a brother and sister, swept away in the flood.
Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Priest Holmes is among a group of people who have been bringing in crucial supplies after flooding devastated communities in central Texas last week.
The joint House and Senate committee will first meet in Austin next week, then in Kerrville on July 31 to hear from Hill Country residents about their concerns.

The death toll from the devastating floods that swept through Kerr County early Friday stands at 107 , officials said Tuesday.
On Monday, during the Kerr County commissioners meeting, local leaders thanked law enforcement and emergency personnel for their work since the floods hit Central Texas. They also discussed ongoing search and rescue efforts,
