Harry Potter' star Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley for the entirety of the eight-film franchise, has been ordered to pay $2.3 million in taxes after a legal battle.

Rupert Grint, the star of "Harry Potter," has once again found himself in serious trouble—he lost a lawsuit and must pay almost 2 million pounds to the British tax office. It turns out that certain irregularities were discovered in the 36-year-old actor's tax returns.

Grint was ordered to pay the money in 2019 after the U.K. tax agency said he had wrongly classed 4.5 million pounds in residuals from the movies as a capital asset rather than income, which is subject to a much higher tax rate.
