Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to hear Central Bureau of Investigation's plea to transfer the trial in two cases pending against terror convict Yasin Malik from Jammu to Delhi and issued notice to him and other accused in the case.

The Supreme Court on Thursday directed separatist leader Yasin Malik to file his response by December 14 on a petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeking transfer of two cases pending against him in Jammu, to New Delhi. The order was passed by the Bench of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Augustine George Masih.

A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih issued notice to Malik and other accused and directed them to file a response by December 18.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeks to move Yasin Malik's trial from Jammu to Tihar jail in Delhi. Malik is already in Tihar jail which has a functional court with video-conferencing facilities.

During the last hearing, the court asked SG Mehta to explore the possibility of holding proceedings inside Tihar Jail for the purpose of examination of witnesses.
