Derek became a part of the 13abc First Alert Weather Team in September of 2021 as the weekend evening meteorologist, which is where you can still watch him on Saturdays and Sundays at 6pm and 11pm.
Derek James anchors Saturday and Sunday evening newscasts and contributes stories during the week on "The 4." Before joining WCCO, Derek spent almost 18 years at WCCB-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina.
