DENTON — Gov. Greg Abbott signed a package of bills Monday that aims to slash property taxes for Texas homeowners. Surrounded by state legislators, local officials and residents of Robson Ranch, a luxury senior community in Denton County, Abbott called the Texas property tax cuts unprecedented in the U.S.

Abbott signed Senate Bills 4 and 23 and House Bill 9, all of which are constitutional amendments that will require voter approval in November. All three are part of Republican lawmakers' efforts to bring tax relief statewide to homeowners,
