Protesters in Georgia used a makeshift firework gun against riot police on the third night of violent clashes with the pro-Russian government in the capital.

Protesters used fireworks against riot police in Tbilisi late on Saturday as they gathered across Georgia for a third straight night of demonstrations against the government’s decision to suspend negotiations to join the European Union.

Police clashed with protesters in the Georgian capital Tbilisi early on Friday, after the country’s ruling party said the government would suspend talks on European Union accession and refuse budgetary grants until 2028.
