After tossing six innings of one-run ball and picking up his seventh win of the season in Wednesday's victory over the Nationals, Gusto will now provide the Marlins' pitching staff with an arm capable of being used in the rotation and out of the bullpen.

The Marlins parted ways with their longest tenured outfielder on Thursday, sending Jesus Sanchez to Houston less than two hours before Major League Baseball's trade deadline. In return, Miami acquired right-handed pitcher Ryan Gusto and two prospects -- shortstop Chase Jaworsky (a top 10 Astros prospect) and outfielder Esmil Valencia.
