The idea of the “alpha wolf” as a dominant leader fighting for control over a pack is outdated. Modern research shows that wolf packs are typically family units, led by the parents, not through dominance but natural hierarchy. The so-called “alpha” wolves are simply the mother and father, guiding their offspring. This misunderstanding came from early studies on unrelated captive wolves, which behaved differently than wild wolf families. Today, the term “alpha” is less commonly used, as it doesn’
