SeaWorld San Diego welcomed the hatching of an emperor penguin for the first time in 13 years, announcing that the female chick came out of its shell with help from zoo staff on September 12 https://reut.rs/3Mh48JS | Reuters

Here’s an amazing video of a chinstrap penguin being hatched. Once the eggs are laid, incubation takes 32-40 days before the chick starts pipping (initially breaking through the egg). Penguin chicks like this will become full grown in about two months.
