So what’s it like to ride the Nevada Northern Railway? This is the Robinson Valley Route that heads towards Ruth where the copper mine is. One of the highlights of the trip is going through the tunnels. The first tunnel is one of the original tunnels that was built in 1907. The Nevada Northern Railway crosses U. S. Hwy 93 just outside of Ely. As you can see in the 93 is a major highway. Hwy 93 runs from the Canadian border almost all the way to the Mexican border. It is a heavily traveled route and one of the few railroad grade crossings on the entire highway is ours.
