How to measure both Western and English saddle (seats!), I often see people get confused about how both saddles are measured differently which leads to mis-measurements! So remember, Western saddles get measured down the CENTER from the pommel (right behind the horn) to the cantle, English/Dressage saddles get measured from the button (badge) on either side of the pommel to DIAGONALLY to the center of the cantle! 😊 #Horses #horsetrainer #horsetraining #equineeducation #horseriding #horsetack #c

Photos of horses in ill fitting tack is the norm. These are the first ten photos of an English saddle when I searched ‘horse saddle’ in a popular photo sharing site. I’ve highlighted some (probably not all!) of the issues. The more these sorts of photos are shared/seen, the more ‘normal’ it is to see this kind of misfitting tack.
