I've always loved the fingerpicking in Dolly Parton's song "Jolene” ..the melody, feel, and performance on her original recording are so classic and haunting. It's definitely one of my favorite country songs. The The White Stripes also recorded a killer version of it. My fingerpicking arrangement is an homage to both the fingersyle work that Chip Young put down on Dolly's original recording, and also to the beautiful melody that Dolly wrote.
